Open from Tuesay to Friday, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturdays from 3:00 p.m to 7:00 pm.

Admission

There is a general entrance fee of AR$500, and AR$1500 for foreing visitors (*)

Your contribution will provide vital support to all areas of the Museum’s work.

(*) The entrance fee does not include access to the Open Ethnographic Collections’ Storage Area or to the guided tours in English.

The Museum is in Moreno 350 (at walking distance from Plaza de Mayo), San Telmo, Buenos Aires City.

Policies and guidelines

  • Look and enjoy, but please do not touch the objects.
  • Smoking, eating, or drinking are not permitted in the exhibition spaces.
  • Suitcases, large umbrellas, large bags and backpacks larger than 11.81 x 16 inches (30 x 40 cm) must be left in the lockers provided.
  • Smaller bags are permitted, at the discretion of the museum’s security officers, if they are hand-carried. These limitations help us protect the collections from accidental damage. Free lockers are available at the reception.
  • Non-commercial video/audio recording and photography are permitted.
  • Please do not take photographs using flash in the exhibition spaces. The lighting in the exhibits guarantees the adequate conservation of the objects.
  • It is sometimes necessary to remove objects from displays or to close exhibition rooms at short notice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Accesibility

The Museum is housed in a historical 19th century building with stairs. Because of the building's protected status, the Museum has somewhat limited accessibility for visitors with mobility impairments.

A wheelchair and a wheelchair stair climber (with a 200 lb / 90 kg capacity) is available free of charge to assist visitors with mobility impairments to access and visit the Museum.

Guided touch tours are available by appointment for visitors who are blind or partially sighted. Please inquire by contacting our Cultural Actions Area at etnovis@filo.uba.ar or calling (54-11) 5287-3063 for details.

Service animals are welcome in the Museum.
